Taking over for the Queen of Latenight, Dave Grohl guest-hosted Chelsea Lately last night (February 6th) and interviewed British rocker-songwriter Sir Elton John. During the interview Grohl revealed the two recently recorded together for the new Queens of the Stoneage LP.
Elton John was working on a duet with Engelbert Humperdinck in Los Angeles and in the same day he "drove three blocks" to meet up and record with the Queens of the Stoneage. It may come as surprise to many but John revealed that he is a huge fan of The Foo Fighters and Them Crooked Vultures. He even played on the last Alice in Chains record. John remarked "Actually nobody really asks me to do stuff really, they'd think I'll say no."
Grohl joked about the unexpected collaboration, "You were like, 'Alright, what do you have, a ballad for me?' And we were like 'No we do not have a ballad for you. At all.'"
Be on the lookout for the upcoming Queens of the Stoneage LP!
