The Talking Heads frontman, David Byrne, and The Roots' drummer, Ahmir "?uestlove" Thompson aka Questlove, will be participating in a 90 minute Public Forum at NYU's Skirball Center on Tuesday, February 26th at 8pm.

It's a great match of multi-dimensional musicians who have embraced an intellectual approach to discussing and producing music.  David Byrne just wrote a book called, "How Music Works," and ?uestlove is currently teaching a course in music history at NYU.

The Skirball website describes the event:

David Byrne (author, Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, cofounder of Talking Heads) and Ahmir "?uestlove" Thompson (drummer, DJ, culinary entrepreneur, member of The Roots) come together for a one-on-one conversation.

The Public Forum series is a significant and exhilarating incarnation of the Theater of Ideas. As a participant and an audience member, I’ve found it a source of great pleasure and value. Thinking is entertaining! Learning is entertaining! Who knew? TONY KUSHNER

They will discuss what we're taught--and how we learn--about music, and the way that our ideas shape the songs we create and consume.  ?uestlove is teaching a course on classic albums at NYU this spring.

Tickets are available through the Skirball website
