67-year-old Motörhead frontman Lemmy Kilmister was forced to cancel two European shows due to health issues. The band announced the cancelation of their appearances at Austria's See-Rock Festival on June 21st and in Milan on June 25th when the singer suffered an unspecified "hematoma."
A statement on the band's website says, "We are sorry to report that Motörhead will be forced to cancel the appearance in Milan, Jun 25th. The band regret it very much but will make it up to all the fans as soon as possible." The same statement was posted regarding the appearance in Austria.
A hematoma is a localized collection of blood outside the blood vessels, usually in liquid form within the tissue. An ecchymosis, commonly called a bruise, is a hematoma of the skin larger than 10mm. Depending on the severity and location, though, a hematoma can have serious health impacts.
This isn't the only health issue the frontman has encountered in recent months. In an interview with Classic Rock magazine, the singer revealed that he recently underwent surgery to fit him with a defibrillator after experiencing "heart problems."
The band has not announced further cancelations or changes to the release of their upcoming record Aftershock, due in September.
Let's just hope that the hematoma didn't affect the Lemmy's moles. Everyone knows that's where the metal comes from. Get well soon, Mr. Kilmister.
