According to NME, Roger Waters has said that he regrets the legal action he took against his former band, Pink Floyd, after he left the group in 1985.

A founding member of Pink Floyd, Waters left to pursue a solo career while the rest of the band kept performing under their original name. Waters proceeded to take a number of legal actions against the continued use of the Pink Floyd name throughout 1985 and '86, including an attempt to dissolve the band through the UK's High Court of Justice. A settlement was reached on Christmas Eve, 1987, when Waters and David Gilmour agreed to absolve Waters' contractual obligation to the band in exchange for the rights to the Pink Floyd name.

Now, nearly 26 years later, Waters has admitted that he regrets ever engaging in a legal battle with his former bandmates. In an interview on BBC World News' "HARDtalk" program, Waters was quoted saying:

"I was wrong. Of course I was. Who cares? It was a commercial decision and in fact it’s one of the few times that the legal profession has taught me something. Because when I went to these chaps and said 'listen we’re broke, this isn’t Pink Floyd anymore', they went 'what do you mean? That’s irrelevant, it is a label and it has commercial value, you can't say it’s going to cease to exist..."

With that said, let's hope that the three surviving members of Pink Floyd's classic lineup (R.I.P. Richard Wright) can put aside all other differences and embark on a reunion tour.
