The Killers announced on their official Twitter account that bassist Mark Stoermer will be "taking a breather during the Asia/UAE tour." There doesn't appear to be any medical reason for his hiatus. According to Stoermer's Twitter he needs to "spend this time at home."

The Killers are currently touring Asia including performances in Singapore, Malaysian, China, and Japan. Their last scheduled international show is October 11 in Dubai. It's possible Stoermer could be back for their October 26 performance in California. Or better yet, the band's October 27 show at the Life Is Beautiful Festival in Las Vegas.
The news of Stoermer's "breather" comes days after the release of their new single, "Shot At The Night," and the announcement of their greatest hits album, Direct Hits.
