Iron Maiden *Did Not* Use BitTorrent Data Of Pirated Music To Plan Their Tour

Earlier this week, several bogus reports claimed that heavy metal superstars Iron Maiden used BitTorrent data tracking illegal sharing of their music to plan their concert tour. This is patently untrue, as discovered by TechCrunch reporter Gregory Ferenstein. However, that didn't stop several music publications, including Rolling Stone and Consequence of Sound, from spreading the story without checking the facts.
