Jimmy Page Talks "Black Dog" & "Led Zeppelin IV" in SiriusXM Interview [YouTube Videos]

Jimmy Page was in New York City recently to promote his new book, Jimmy Page By Jimmy Page. While in town, he stopped by the SiriusXM studio for a very intimate Q&A with subscribers and fans. Jimmy Page talked about the writing of "Black Dog" and why the band's name was left off the cover for Led Zeppelin IV. You can watch both videos below via YouTube.

In the videos, Page reveals that bassist John Paul Jones came up with the riff for "Black Dog." Jimmy then experimented with a call and response method with Robert Plant to flesh out the piece.

The answer Page gives as to why the band's name wasn't on the cover or in the title of Led Zeppelin IV is an interesting one. He says the band felt it was the logical thing to do, but it created a conflict with their record company. Both clips are informative, but leave you wanting to hear more.
