George Clinton sat down with SBTV for an interview a little while ago, and the video just came to fruition. During the course of the interview, Clinton speaks on a variety of subjects, from the creation of P-Funk to Kendrick Lamar, who featured Clinton on the opening track of his new album, To Pimp A Butterfly.

There were a handful of very memorable quotes throughout the course of the interview, so we decided to jot those down to immortalize them in the World Wide Web.

"We gon' play R&B so loud that it's gonna be a brand new music."

"To me, Funkadelic was just loud Motown."

"In '76 we went in to what we call P-Funk: Combination of James Brown, Jimi Hendrix, Funkadelic, Motown, Sly Stone... all of it in one package. We call it 'pure funk.'"

"Funk is the DNA for hip hop."

"Funk is basically simple. Put everything you can in and do the best you can. You know, I'll throw the kitchen sink in the record."

"Soon as you hear parents say, 'What the hell are you listening to? That ain't music' -- that's gonna be the new music."

"Whenever you heard older musicians say, 'That ain't music,' they're getting old."

"Look at YouTube and I can see Kendrick Lamar gon' be the next motherfucker."
