NME has just released two new videos starring pop sensation Taylor Swift. In the first video, Taylor describes her songwriting process with regards to one of her biggest hits to date, "Blank Space." Also featured below is behind-the-scenes footage of her recent NME Cover shoot, appropriately synced up to the hit song.

The origins of "Blank Space" begin with Swift's realization that there are essentially two outcomes for a relationship ("So it's gonna be forever, or it's gonna go down in flames"). In exploring this dichotomy, Taylor states that she began to write down related thoughts. "It was really more like a crossword puzzle." Swift explains, "'Blank Space' was kind of a culmination of all my best [lines], one after the other."
She goes on to explain that the Billboard #1 hit was also a response to the media's portrayal of her as a "serial dater" during 2012-2013, in spite of the fact that she only dated two people in that year-and-a-half. She redirects the depictions placed on her by the media to create the materialistic, boy-crazy character exemplified in the song lyrics and music video.
