You can trace the origins of heavy metal music to one band: Black Sabbath. 45 years (and a few lineup changes) after that first album in 1970, the band have announced they will be doing one final tour. Today we learned that the tour will include at least five legs and over 60 concerts, including arena shows and festivals.

The first leg of the tour will be through the USA and Canada during the winter of 2016. Then, the band will be traveling through Australia and New Zealand in April, which will be followed by European dates during June and July. Today, the band has just announced the 4th leg of the tour, which will bring them back to North America for August and September.

It was expected that Sabbath would be announcing more dates, but the dates that most fans were waiting for were in their home country of the United Kingdom, and specifically hometown concerts in Birmingham and London, England. So far, the only concert that's been announced in Great Britain is the 2016 Download Festival. Logic would indicate that Sabbath would plan a big celebration for their absolute final shows, which should take place in the UK.

It's also a little surprising that the band haven't announced any shows for the Southeastern USA, missing big cities like New Orleans, Atlanta, Nashville, Miami, and Charlotte. They're also missing notable Mid-West locations like St. Louis, Pittsburgh, and the whole state of Ohio. Could there be another announcement and more dates into 2017?

When do Black Sabbath The End 2016 tickets go on sale and what's the presale code?

The first ticket sales begin on Wednesday, October 28, for VIP Packages. Then, on October 30 presales open up for Live Nation, LN Mobile, Ticketmaster, and Radio Presales. Tickets go on sale to the general public on Saturday, October 31. Most sales happen at 10 AM local time, but each date can be different. It's also important to note that most shows are already on sale. Check the links above for more specific info about the concert you're interested in.

The Live Nation presale offer code is PIANO and the Live Nation mobile app password is COVERT. We recommend going to the website for the venue you're interested in and signing up for their email newsletter to get the latest information and local presale offers.

Sadly, original Black Sabbath Bill Ward will not be joining the band on this tour. Up-and-coming hard rock band Rival Sons will be the opening band for all of the 2016 North American concerts.
