All-female rock band The Go-Go's are calling it quits after one final tour.
The band shared a statement with Rolling Stone about the upcoming tour:
After a 38-year run, we are gearing up for one last blast of a summer tour... We feel so lucky and so grateful to have had the incredible support of our fans for so long. We can't wait to get out on the road and give the people what they want: some loud, fast music and a great party!"
The Go-Go's rose to fame in 1981 when they released their debut album, Beauty and the Beat, which included their signature song, "We Got The Beat."
The group has announced dates for a farewell tour that will kick off August 2 in Florida and wrap up August 30 in California. The opening acts on select dates will be indie rock band Best Coast and 16-year-old singer-songwriter Kaya Stewart.
The Go-Go's lineup will include Belinda Carlisle, Jane Wiedlin, Charlotte Caffey, and Gina Schock.
