Canadian alt-rockers The Tragically Hip have announced 2016 summer tour dates for Canada in support of their 14th studio album, Man Machine Poem. At this time, 15 concerts have been scheduled from July 22 to August 20.
The tour dates have been added in light of a sad development for the band. On May 24, 2016, the band left a Facebook post sharing the news that lead singer Gord Downie was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer:
This feels like the right thing to do now, for Gord, and for all of us.
What we in The Hip receive, each time we play together, is a connection; with each other; with music and it’s magic; and during the shows, a special connection with all of you, our incredible fans.
So, we’re going to dig deep, and try to make this our best tour yet.
The band is planning to set aside a portion of ticket sales to the Sunnybrook Foundation.

When do The Tragically Hip 2016 tour tickets go on sale and what is the presale code?
The general public on-sale begins as early as June 3, 2016 at 10 AM local time. Fan club and American Express cardmember presales are currently underway. Facebook, Live Nation, and LN Mobile App presales begin June 2.
