Counting Crows have announced a huge North American tour for 2018, with Live as the opening band on most but not all dates.
The new shows are scheduled to begin on June 27 in Idaho and expand through the summer months into late September. Counting Crows vocalist Adam Duritz shared his excitement about the upcoming trek in a press release:
The nice thing about having 25 years of music to celebrate and seven studio albums we absolutely love to choose from is that we can play a different show every night. The nice thing about touring with Live is that we get to spend yet another summer with old friends who play great music. We can't wait!”
The two bands have toured together several times over the years. Counting Crows technically formed in 1991 in Berkeley, California. The "25 years" marks the time since band's first album, August and Everything After, was released and quickly vaulted the band to star status with a slew of hits including "Mr. Jones" and "Round Here." The band Live, hailing from Pennsylvania, smashed through to rock radio a year later with their hit album Throwing Copper with several smash hits including "Lightning Crashes."
