Lorin Ashton, better known by his stage name Bassnectar, has released four songs from his upcoming album Unlimited, which is scheduled for full release on June 17, 2016. Listen above, via YouTube.

Based on the brief preview of the album, it seems like Bassnectar might be heading in a slightly different direction apart from his signature heavy drum and bass dub sound. Tracks like "Music is the Drug" and "TKO" (featuring Rye Rye & Zion I) still contain occasional hard drops, while "Paracosm" (with The Glitch Mob) and "Reaching Out" give off a more relaxed tone on top of the original Bassnectar style. All four songs are generally more chilled out than the DJ's older music.

In a post from Bassnectar's website, he talked about what fans can expect from the album:

This is a collection of music which represents the vastly eclectic musical tastes and creative ideas of both myself and many friends and collaborators who joined the project to build something unique and heartfelt. This is a very deep release for me, with much more downtempo than usual, and a lot of concepts I have wanted to finish for a long time finally coming to fruition.

Along with Unlimited, Bassnectar has recently been declared the resident DJ of the Electric Forest Music Festival in Michigan, which means that he will perform at the event every year indefinitely. Bassheads certainly have a lot to look forward to.
