From their highly anticipated collaboration Piñata, (no longer titled MadGibbs), production wizard Madlib and Indiana's shining emcee Freddie Gibbs give us the latest dose of their combining forces during this summers's Adult Swim Singles Series. Titled "City," the song is a highly delirious and fast-paced blend of looping drums and upright-bass, perfectly complimented by the solid verses of Gibbs, as well as jazz drummer and occasional rapper, Karriem Riggins.
Gibbs told Rolling Stone that "this is just a prelude to what me and Madlib are about to do with Piñata... this Madlib album was made by drugs."
"City" will be available for free on Adult Swim's website next Monday, July 22nd, along with the rest of the program's previous releases. Piñata is scheduled for release sometime later this year and will have guest appearances by Meech of Flatbush Zombies, Casey Veggies, Mac Miller, Raekwon, Danny Brown, Domo Genesis, Ab-Soul, Joey Bada$$, and Earl Sweatshirt.
