Today, Cher has announced she will release an album of ABBA covers called Dancing Queen. She also released the first single, "GIMME! GIMME! GIMME! (A Man After Midnight)." Listen above on YouTube.
Cher stays true to ABBA's 1979 hit song, with the signature guitar, funky groove, and infectious melodies of the original that should light up any dance floor. She also puts her personal stamp on the tune with modern EDM production and digitally processed vocals. If this is any indication of what the album will be like, fans of Cher and ABBA are in for a treat.
It's also worth noting that Cher starred in the movie Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, which was released last month and features several songs by ABBA — although the sequel wasn't as heavy on the ABBA songs as the original Mamma Mia! musical and film.
