James Mercer and Brian Burton, aka Broken Bells, appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! last night with a live band to promote their forthcoming record, After The Disco.

"Holding On For Life" - Broken Bells on Jimmy Kimmel 1/29/2014:

They kicked things off with a funky version of "Holding On For Life," complete with synth hooks found on the album version of the song. When the pair play as a duo, Brian Burton is usually on keys, but this song saw him playing bass behind a space-age keyboard stand. The addition of a live drummer is a nice touch as well, adding a very human element to the somewhat electronic sounds.

The next tune was the album's title track, and they play it straight up. James Mercer drops the guitar in favor of just singing, while Burton switches over to keys. No frills, no flair, just uncut Broken Bells. Check out the videos above and below.
