Last night, Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks performed "Houston Hades" from their sixth studio release, Wig Out at Jagbags, on The Late Show with David Letterman. Watch it above.

The track has the band jamming out on a mid-tempo grove with a piano riff, sounding like a yacht-rock ballad. They rock out on the second half with Malkmus entering a wailing guitar solo. Malkmus' lyrics are as quirky as ever. He sings, "If love is Hades for all you Slim Shadeys / It's no wonder he smashes guitars / Turn the stage into a cool crime scene." It's hard to decipher what he means by that, if he means anything at all, but that's part of the fun.

You can stream Wig Out at Jagbags here on Zumic or purchase it on Amazon.
