Chi-town storyteller Lupe Fiasco is back with "Made In The USA" This is the second release from his recently-delayed Drogas Light following "Pick Up the Phone," which dropped in August.
Amid a racing, booming beat and with the disclaimer of being a part of the "American motherfucking dream," Lupe lists his perspective on things made in America. To him, guns, drugs, gangs, and murder rates are all products to be classified as being made in the United States. The track offers interesting insight into America's influence on the rest of the world.
Besides a few tweets following the Nov 9 Presidential election, Lupe had been relatively quiet on the socio-political front. However, it would seem that "Made In The USA" is an indirect response to the "Make America Great Again" campaign slogan.
Drogas Light is now, tentatively, scheduled to be released in 2017, through his 1st and 15 label.
