HAIM released a star-studded music video for the remix of "My Song 5” featuring A$AP Ferg. The video takes place on the set of a fictional talk show called Dallas Murphy, hosted by SNL star Vanessa Bayer.
Cameos of various stars are strung throughout the video: Kesha portraying a woman obsessed with her cat, Ezra Koenig from Vampire Weekend as an enthusiastic audience member, Ferg as a guest whose girlfriend is dumping him for another woman, as well as appearances from Big Sean, Grimes, HAIM's parents, and their producer, Ariel Rechtshad. Although director Dugan O'Neal's depiction of daytime television may seem a little bizarre, it might actually be toned down a bit. In no way does Este Haim's enjoyment of mimes compare to the crazy assortment of guests that have stopped by The Jerry Springer Show.
The remix of "My Song 5” reveals a more provocative side of the sister rockers and the sinister feel of the song works well with the dark humor of the music video. Overall, HAIM's latest music video makes us very excited for their next album.
