Toronto-based band Dilly Dally have released a new track called "Candy Mountain." Listen above.

The track is dreamy, gritty, and melodic: sparse verses of bass and drums and a whirlwind chorus by comparison, a style trademarked by the Pixies over twenty years ago. Katie Monks' stylized, unscrewed vocals fit well into a grungey ballad, the sort of thing Linda Perry served up in 4 Non Blondes' hit "What's Up?" Lovingly nostalgic elements are thrown into a mix of light and dark textures, where spiraling guitars bring the track full circle.

The Canadian four-piece have earned a decent following in their hometown, touring with established indie bands like Tokyo Police Club (fronted by Katie Monks' brother, David Monks). So far they've released two other singles that you can stream via Bandcamp. For other band info, check out their Facebook.
