Glen Campbell has released his last song. Following a 2011 diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease, the country legend recorded his final album, embarked on his final tour, and has now shared a final single entitled "I'm Not Gonna Miss You."
The singer recorded the song in 2012 specifically for an upcoming documentary called Glen Campbell I'll Be Me. The James Keach-directed film follows Campbell's fight against the disease and chronicles his final concerts. It will also feature interviews with friends, loved ones, and other musicians, including Bruce Springsteen, Paul McCartney, Vince Gill, Blake Shelton, Sheryl Crow, Chad Smith, and many more.
The music video for "I'm Not Gonna Miss You," also directed by James Keach, is a moving look into Campbell's personal life. The poignant lyrics are an optimistic look at Glen's condition, but it's a heart-wrenching clip all the same. Footage from throughout his lengthy career plays interspersed with clips from the upcoming film. Watch the music video above and watch a trailer for Glen Campbell I'll Be Me below.
The documentary will be in theaters October 24th. Get more information at the official website.
