Yesterday, Australian jam band John Butler Trio shared a video for "Spring To Come," their fourth single from their newest release, Flesh & Blood. You can watch the animated clip above via YouTube.

The colorful video was directed, produced, and animated by Jonathan Chong with the help of illustrator Snip Green. It follows the tale of a man who misses his love, and goes for a long walk while life around him continues. Death and birth are constant themes within the story, exemplified by a caterpillar becoming a butterfly and a bird's dead body being the nutrition for growing flowers and trees. The acoustic playing mixed with an organic feel from the underlying bass and drums are a perfect supplement for the story, which ends on a positive note.

On the band's Facebook page, they shared how the song came about:

"Spring To Come" evolved from a guitar riff that has been around for about five years wanting to come to light. Then on a camping trip at the Blackwood River the lyrics decided to come to the party. For me it’s a song about dealing with depression and having the faith that there’s light at the end of the tunnel. In the midst of winter, spring will come.

Flesh & Blood is available through Amazon (Vinyl, CD, MP3) and iTunes.
