North Carolina folk duo Hiss Golden Messenger brought a 7-piece backing band to their first network television performance on The Late Show with David Letterman November 18th. Watch the video of the group -- featuring members of Megafaun, Mountain Man, and Bon Iver --performing "Southern Grammar" above.

Vocalist MC Taylor demonstrated strong stage presence during the song. His singing was rough and soulful, and he stomped through the tune with power. The backing band created a rollicking atmosphere with funky horns and two-part harmonies. At the end of the performance David Letterman was raving, saying, "I liked everything about this, this is fantastic right here."

You can listen to Hiss Golden Messenger's latest album, Lateness Of Dancers, right here on Zumic. The album is out now, and currently available on Amazon (Vinyl, CD, MP3), and iTunes.
