Four down, one to go. On the second-to-last night of their weeklong residency, Metallica played their smash hit "Enter Sandman" on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson. Taking his hosting duties seriously, Craig introduced the thrash metal legends with veneraion and respect: "Here tonight is a band who are the runner-up on American Idol, wasn't it fellas?"
"Enter Sandman" is arguably the band's most popular song, and is largely responsible for launching Metallica into superstardom. So, naturally, the guys have played it a few times. However, that doesn't make this performance anything less than kick-ass. The guitars are loud, the drums are thunderous, and the intensity is cranked to 11. Metallica still perform this song like it was written yesterday.
On November 28th, Metallica will be celebrating Record Store Day with a 12" vinyl featuring their latest song "Lords of Summer." The band premiered the song on their By Request tour earlier this year. The new 12" will include both the studio and the live version of the track. Get more info at RSD's official website.
