British vocal phenomenon Ellie Goulding shared her cover of Hozier's "Take Me To Church" via SoundCloud. It hasn't even been up a week and it already has over 1 million plays. Check it out above.
In this electronic rendition of the song, Goulding sends us on a mesmerizing journey. The verses are slow and seductive, layered with finger snaps and soft bass thumps. In the hooks, she powerfully sings "Take me to church" with fierce attitude while the synths flash like a pulse in the mix. Her voice is so unique that if you were to put her on any track, it would sound like gold. Rest assured, there's no difference in this case.
The tune has gotten backlash on social media, but I believe that this is a good cover. We also have Ed Sheeran's cover of "Take Me To Church" right here on Zumic
Ellie Goulding has also recently released a track for Fifty Shades of Grey that you can check out right here on Zumic. Her 2013 album Halcyon Days is available on Amazon (Vinyl, CD, MP3). You can also stream the album for free and read our review right here on Zumic.
