Dan Deacon's new video is a psychedelic freak-out set to the illustration of nine different animators. Adult Swim curated the visual euphoria for "When I Was Done Dying," a track off Deacon's most recent album Gliss Riffer.

It's a really neat experience to watch the animated video seamlessly segue between each artist's unique style. Some artists try to align their visuals with the lyrics, while others forgo the song's contents for something totally out of left field. Deacon's brand of zany psych-pop, complete with weird voices and rapid vibraphone, is the ideal soundtrack for such an unconventional music video.

Deacon said of the song, "At some point, I will not be able to use my voice in the way I can now and that I should be using my voice as much as possible until that time…like if I found out that all trombones were going to be gone by 2040, I’d start writing lots of trombone music." You can read more about it from Deacon, along with all of the visual artists at Adult Swim's Off The Air Tumblr.

In order of appearance, Jake Fried, Chad VanGaalen, Dimitri Stankowicz, Colin White, Taras Hrabowsky, Anthony Schepperd, Masanobu Hiraoka, Caleb Wood, and KOKOFREAKBEAN worked to animate the video.

Gliss Riffer is available for purchase on Amazon (Vinyl, CD, MP3).
