"Boy, I was ready for spring," Jim James opens on My Morning Jacket's brand new single "Spring (Among The Living)." It's quite the timely release, as most of us can't wait to store our bulky winter jackets away.

"Spring (Among The Living)" is an adventurous song, complete with pounding drums, squealing guitar, and vocals that transition from a low murmur to a full-fledged "Great Gig In The Sky"-esque solo, accompanied by a female vocalist and all. It exudes the kind of happiness one feels as temperatures rise and the snow melts away, allowing the flowers and trees to blossom once more. To increase the anticipation for The Waterfall’ May 4, 2015 release date, MMJ released the track with a psychedelic waterfall visualizer.

Spring also marks the beginning of festival season, where My Morning Jacket will reclaim their spot as live music royalty. The band is slated to headline Hangout Festival, Governors Ball, Bonnaroo, Forecastle, and more as they provide the soundtrack to hazy summer nights for folks all over America.

The Waterfall is available for pre-order on Amazon (Vinyl, CD, MP3).
