Indie rockers The National haven't announced a new album or tour, but they've released a previously unheard track to promote their 2013 documentary film Mistaken For Strangers. Today, the band has shared a song called "Sunshine On My Back," an outtake from the Trouble Will Find Me sessions. Listen to the song above.

"Sunshine On My Back" is a mid-tempo track with quick hi-hat and drum fills. Matt Berninger's soothing vocals carry the breezy tune, and are accompanied on backing vocals by Sharon Van Etten. As the song progresses, there's a slight feeling of anticipation that the song will explode into a loud rocker, but never does. Nevertheless, it's a piece that fans should enjoy.

"Sunshine On My Back" is available as a free download when you order The Nationals' documentary Mistaken For Strangers through VHX. You can also pick up the film on Amazon.
