Last night, the Dave Matthews Band performed a ten song set for the Legends on Letterman concert web series. The program highlights some of David Letterman’s most popular musical guests. During their set, DMB premiered a new song titled "Black and Bluebird." Watch it above and check out the full 63-minute performance at CBS.com.
The new tune has all the characteristics of a familiar Dave Matthews Band song. Gentle acoustic strumming and storytelling vocals from Dave, breezy rhythm guitar from Tim Reynolds, and a solid foundation provided by drummer Carter Beauford and bassist Stefan Lessard. Inserting beautiful horns throughout are Rashawn Ross on trumpet and Jeff Coffin on clarinet, helping to give the song a warm, jazzy vibe.
There's been no announcement of a new album, so perhaps this is a preview of a future song that could be on it? Let's hope so.
The band is getting ready to hit the road this month for an extensive summer tour. For more information about that, as well as DMB's latest music and news, check out their Zumic artist page.
