Lana Del Rey has released a new song called "Honeymoon" on YouTube. She had previously shared the lyrics in the program for her current tour and on social media.
Earlier this year, Del Rey told Billboard that her next album would be called Honeymoon. This title track is the first single. She also explained to Billboard that the new album will be more of a return to the sound of her first two albums after 2014's Ultraviolence:
It's very different from the last one and similar to the first two, Born to Die and Paradise. I finished my last one [Ultraviolence] in March and released it in June and I had a follow-up idea. It's growing into something I really like. I'm kind of enjoying sinking into this more noirish feel for this one. It's been good.
"Honeymoon" is a beautiful song, full of the bittersweet strings and wistful vocals that Lana Del Rey is so good at. She's one of the few singers around today who draw from the style of classic pop music that had one foot in the world of jazz & blues and another foot in the world of show tunes.
