Tomorrow, UK music magazine MOJO will release their October, 2015 issue to newsstands. Packaged with the magazine will be a CD that will include a cover of The Beatles 1966 Revolver song "Here, There and Everywhere" done by Pink Floyd's David Gilmour. Listen to it above.
David Gilmour told MOJO that he wished he had been in The Beatles, and after listening to this version, it seems like he would have fit right in. Recorded with his son Joe, David Gilmour's vocals are softened with background harmonies, and the song's mellow rhythm features a confident guitar solo.
David also credited The Beatles for teaching him to play guitar:
[They] taught me how to play guitar, I learnt everything. The bass parts, the lead, the rhythm, everything. They were fantastic.
Gilmour will be releasing Rattle That Lock, his fourth studio album as a solo artist, on September 18th. Pick it up on Amazon (Vinyl, CD, MP3).
You can listen to the previously shared title track here on Zumic.
David Gilmour will also be on the road in 2016 in support of the new album. For more information tour information, as well as his latest music and news, check out his Zumic artist page.
