On August 29, 2015, Thunderbitch released their self-titled debut album. The band is comprised of members of Alabama Shakes, Fly Golden Eagle, and Clear Plastic Masks. The album credits list Brittany Howard (Alabama Shakes) on guitar and vocals, Matt Man on guitar, B Bone on bass, Char Man on drums, A Man on vocals and tambourine, and Thundermitch on keys.

The ten track album hits you like a wrecking ball in the gut with its rowdy, bluesy, punk rock influenced brand of rock and roll. The band first emerged in December of 2012 for a gig at Nashville venue Ghot Wingz, but only played a small handful of shows after that.

Songs like "I Don't Care" carry the weight of a Ramones attitude, while "Eastside Party" recalls a bygone era of '50s era Jerry Lee Lewis rock. "Close" is a slower jam that highlights Brittany Howard's passionate vocal delivery while carrying a Velvet Underground-esque vibe.

There's plenty of high energy adrenaline flowing through songs like "Wild Child" and "Let Me Do What I Do Best." "Very Best Friend" recalls a The Cars influence, and "My Baby Is My Guitar" is a thick haze of distortion guitar with bluesy licks.

Through her time with the Alabama Shakes, Brittany Howard has clearly demonstrated that she's one of music's most charismatic, entertaining, and skillful frontwomen on the scene. This band gives Brittany the opportunity to let loose with a wilder and much more uninhibited brand of rock music.

Tracks we dig include "I Don't Care," "I Just Wanna Rock n Roll," "Very Best Friend," and "Heavenly Feeling."
