Today, Lana Del Rey has released Honeymoon, her fourth studio album. Helping Lana produce the album was Rick Nowels and Kieron Menzies.
In a conversation with Billboard, Lana explained the album's dark sound:
It's very different from the last one and similar to the first two, Born to Die and Paradise. I finished my last one [Ultraviolence] in March and released it in June and I had a follow-up idea. It's growing into something I really like. I'm kind of enjoying sinking into this more noirish feel for this one. It's been good.
The 14-track album spans 65 minutes and includes 12 original songs, as well as the T.S. Eliot poem "Burnt Norton" and a cover of the Nina Simone classic, "Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood," which The Animals would go on to cover.
Tracks we recommend include "Honeymoon," "Terrence Loves You," "High By The Beach," "Religion," and "Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood."
