Former Soundgarden and Audioslave frontman Chris Cornell has been blowing up social media with his acoustic cover of Prince's classic tune, "Nothing Compares 2 U." Cornell played the song along with others from his new album, Higher Truth, live in front of an intimate audience at SiriusXM's studio in New York. This exclusive performance was moderated by Rolling Stone magazine contributor and SiriusXM host, David Fricke, for the Lithium channel.
"Nothing Compares 2 U," made famous by Sinead O'Connor, describes the emptiness felt after falling out of love. And what better arrangement could be made for this song than two acoustic guitars and cello spearheaded by one of rock's greatest vocalists? Prepare to feel moved by the raw honesty of Chris Cornell's performance. For comparison, check out the original version recorded by The Family in 1985.
Higher Truth is available on Amazon (Vinyl, CD, MP3). You can also stream the full album for free right here on Zumic.
