Lettuce has just announced their new album, Crush along with a hip new single which you can stream on SoundCloud above.

The Brooklyn-based band has gained a considerable following on the festival circuit with their unique blend of psychedelia, funk, and hip-hop. Their new single, "Phyllis" runs about 7 minutes and is a musical journey. Starting with a syncopated, heady guitar riff that seems so wrapped up in delay that it's rhythm is almost indistinguishable until the drums enter and everything locks in together.

The horn lines are really solid throughout, and the interplay between different instruments is intelligently coordinated. The groove is pretty pocket and Lettuce does a good job of giving the form momentum — crescendoing for most of the song until it drops down to just guitar before building back into the end. Also keep an ear out for the ethereal sound design happening throughout the track.

Crush is expected to drop on November 11th, 2015. You can pre-order a copy on Amazon.
