Scottish synthpop group CHVRCHES stopped by BBC Radio 1's Live Lounge and performed their take of Justin Bieber's latest single, "What Do You Mean." Watch above on YouTube.
CHVRCHES are known for releasing music that is danceable, with the synthetic beats from Iain Cook and Martin Doherty, but also having emotional depth thanks to the voice of Lauren Mayberry. The trio use those skills when covering Bieber's chart topping hit, making it a different experience than listening to the original. When listening to this rendition you are reminded of why CHVRCHES continues to make it big. Their sound is refreshingly different, and pretty unique among bands you'll hear on the radio today. Even when covering one of the music industry's biggest names, these three stay true to themselves.
