If you've ever wondered what it was like to be in the recording studio in '65 and '66 while the great Bob Dylan was laying down songs, perhaps the track above will give you an idea. Listen to the first take of "Just Like a Woman," which will be included on The Cutting Edgen 1965-1966, an upcoming collection of outtakes and alternate versions.
Upon listening, we hear that Dylan applied some noticeable changes. It keeps the same relaxed groove as the Blonde on Blonde studio version. Electric guitar riffs and organ playing underneath are a bit more pronounced, and the lyrics are slightly different. The song sort of falls apart towards the end when we hear Dylan cough and laugh, adding a sense of humor to this version. It also lacks the signature repeated melodic part after he sings, "... just like a little girl."
