Earlier this month, Phish performed a three night run at the Barcelo Maya Beach Resort in beautiful Riviera Maya, Mexico. If you couldn't get yourself down there for the sun and music, don't worry. The band has uploaded a live performance of "Down With Disease" from their January 17 concert. Watch it above, via Phish's YouTube.
This version is definitely unique in that at the ten minute mark, an audio sample of a female voice is played through the PA, with mentions of the shore, surf, and crashing rocks. From there, the band settles into a hypnotic groove highlighted by Fishman's steady drumming, McConnell's mellow keyboards, and Gordon's free-flowing bass playing.
