Indie rock musician Andrew Bird has shared another track from his upcoming album Are You Serious. Listen to "Roma Fade" above, via his YouTube.
On Andrew's Facebook, he commented about the song:
"Roma Fade" is about the wordless dialogue between the watcher and the watched and the fine line between romance and creepiness. In this song, "she" is a fortress of solitude, yet the observer can still affect her with his gaze. Whether the attention is welcome or not, something between them has changed. Notice how the song shifts from third person to first person near the end and it's actually the observer who has transformed.
As for the music, "Roma Fade" is an upbeat tune strengthened with a strong dance beat, sympathetic strings, acoustic strumming, and Bird's elegantly smooth vocal delivery. The track also has a slight similarity to his song "Souverian" from the 2008 album Noble Beast.
Other songs Andrew has shared from the upcoming album include "Capsized" and "Left Handed Kisses," which features Fiona Apple.
