Leading up to the release of their 2016 album, Painting Of A Panic Attack, Scottish indie rockers Frightened Rabbit released a video for the track "Woke Up Hurting." Check it out above.

"Woke Up Hurting" joins "Get Out" as one of the songs to have a music video premiered before the album's release on April 8. The track is classic Frightened Rabbit, full of detailed imagery that makes the story of the song feel like it's playing out in front of you.

The video was shot in an abandoned German military hospital outside of Berlin. As it moves through a series of broken-down rooms in the dilapidated building, the band is set in what could have been the common area of the institution during its heyday. The shots rotate perspective, as if the subject is disoriented and at times seeing the scenes upside down.

The leader of the band, Scott Hutchison, sings along with the shots of a battle-worn person struggling through his days, constantly being beaten down by life. He chants, "I woke up hurting, though I can't quite say why." The images compliment the story Hutchison creates, with the deserted rooms and dizzying movements of the shots conveying a feeling of confusion and unbalance, much like life often does.

Painting Of A Panic Attack is scheduled to be released on April 8, 2016. Pick it up on Amazon.
