Real Friends “Scared To Be Alone” Lyrics

I care too much
While you don’t even care at all
It’s just sad that you don’t even care

I walk up the stairs to your apartment and I feel small
The lowest ceilings and even lower standards
Pictures of simple times on the top shelf
You lie to me and say you’re happy with the way things are
With the way things are

It’s just sad
Oh, it’s sad that you don’t even care at all

I want to carry you
But I’ll just keep worrying about you
Don’t settle because you’re scared of being alone
You know I always pictured things to be different for you

I spent so much damn time trying to move forward
It hurts me to watch you falling backwards
Brave your life finding solutions, not making excuses
Find solutions and stop waiting for excuses

I want to carry you
But I’ll just keep worrying about you
Don’t settle because you’re scared of being alone
You know I always pictured things to be different for you

I care too much, while you don’t even care at all
A bit much, while you don’t even care at all
It’s too much, while you don’t even care at all
It’s too much, while you don’t even care at all

I want to carry you, but I’ll just keep worrying about you
Don’t settle because you’re scared of being alone
You know I always pictured things to be different
Don’t settle because you’re scared
You know I pictured things to be different
I pictured things to be different for you
For you

Illinois emo outfit Real Friends are back again with a music video for their new song, “Scared To Be Alone.” Watch above.

The band is currently gearing toward the release of their second full length album, The Home Inside My Head. So far, they’ve shared the first single, “Colder Quicker.” Real Friends will also be playing main stage on Vans Warped Tour all summer long.

“Scared To Be Alone” is a classic pop punk jam with speedy drums, vigorous guitar riffs, and moving lyrics. The nostalgic music video follows frontman Dan Lambton as he explores an old, empty house and has flashbacks to his childhood. The song is about bassist Kyle Fasel’s mom, he explained on New Noise Magezine:

The lyrical content of the song is about my mom, so it hits pretty close to home for me… My mom and I have a great relationship. But over the past few years she has put herself in some situations that she doesn’t deserve. It’s hard to watch someone you love make bad decisions. All you want to do is help but you can’t seem to get through to them. I think that’s something we will all deal with in life. It’s real hard but I’m glad to make a positive out of the situation by writing about it.

The Home Inside My Head is scheduled to be released on May 27th, 2016. Pick it up on Amazon.
