"Mess" - Real Friends [YouTube Official Music Video]

Real Friends, a five-piece pop punk band hailing from the Chicago suburbs, shared a music video for their new song "Mess," which will be on their upcoming second studio album, The Home Inside My Head. Watch above.

Last month, the Illinois Sad Boys gave us a taste of the new record with "Colder, Quicker" and "Scared To Be Alone."

Bassist Kyle Fasel spoke with SPIN, where Real Friends premiered the music video, and explained what the new song meant:

“Mess” is a song about self examination. It’s about finding the light even in the darkest of rooms. The lyrical content has many moments of looking back and knowing that things get better. When I was younger it was always looking back and missing what I once had. But now I realize that the way I was, or the things I had, shaped me into who I am today. I find myself looking back in a more positive way. “Mess” is another chapter in getting better.

A nostalgic tune with lyrics about getting better and listening to Death Cab for Cutie, "Mess" is a true pop punk anthem with fast paced drums and aggressive guitar riffs. The music video shows clips of Real Friends' recent $5 Tour where they played in unusual venue settings including a batting cage, VFW hall, and a boxing ring.
