The Avett Brothers have shared a folky new song from their upcoming album, True Sadness. Listen to "Divorce Separation Blues" above, courtesy of the band's YouTube.

Singer Seth Avett spoke with Huffington Post about the track:

It is odd to me that more songs aren’t specifically written about divorce, considering how painfully common the event has become. In this particular case, the idea for the song came along as a yodel, which I have no explanation for, except that I am a sucker for a sad song presented in a relatively bright or conversational way.

"Divorce Separation Blues" sees the band exploring their classic country side, with skillful finger picking, a relaxed rhythm, and Seth's easy feeling vocals.

Fans of the band may remember that Seth and his ex-wife, Susan, divorced in 2013 when former drummer and bandmate Jacob Edwards reportedly discovered the singer cheating on his wife with actress Jennifer Carpenter.

Pick up True Sadness on Amazon. It's scheduled to be released on June 24, 2016. This is the second song we've heard from the album, after The Avett Brothers shared an official music video for "Ain't No Man."
