"Victim Of Me" - Descendents [YouTube Official Music Video] | Zumic

Punk rock band the Descendents released their new single "Victim Of Me" off of their upcoming album Hypercaffium Spazzinate on June 6th, 2016. This will be their seventh studio album, and their first record since the 2004 release of their previous album, Cool to Be You. For this one song, the black-and-white video takes us into the world of a Descendents concert, where the band delivers a passionate performance in front of a small audience.

The song is exactly 1 minute and 37 seconds long, a typically short track from the band. It includes fast paced drums and layered guitars, with lead singer Milo Aukerman's raspy voice adding to the punk rock feel. The song itself discusses not giving up when things get rough, and not letting yourself turn into a victim of reality.

The Descendents, who originally formed in 1977 in Manhattan Beach, California, said they began to record for this new album after they ended their hiatus in 2010, touring with fellow punk rock bands Rise Against and Bad Religion. Milo Aukerman shared in a press release:

I think one of the things that’s kept us inspired over the years is having the music as an outlet for our frustrations... Having the freedom to completely blow my voice out every time I recorded was a very positive experience for me.
