“Threat of Joy” – The Strokes [YouTube Official Music Video]

Following the release of The Strokes’ most recent EP, Future Present Past, the band have shared the music video for “Threat of Joy,” which is the first music video that they shot together since 2011.

The music video seems as if it’s originally meant for another track from the EP, “Oblivius,” due to a quick fragment of the song that plays in the introduction. Later, it is revealed that the footage for “Oblivius” has been stolen and “Threat of Joy” is taking its place. The narrative includes a SWAT team, exotic island dancers, and a gang of corporate pigs. While the calamity unfolds, Julian Casablancas and the rest of the band manage to casually perform along to the song. The video is odd, mysterious, and gets us hyped up to have The Strokes back in the music scene again.

Future Present Past is out now and available to purchase on Amazon. You can also stream the album for free and read our review right here on Zumic.
