In May of 2015, a tribute concert called Dear Jerry: Celebrating The Music Of Jerry Garcia brought together members of the Grateful Dead with other acclaimed artists to celebrate the music of the late Jerry Garcia.
Thanks to a recent upload on Garcia's YouTube channel, we can witness one of the special moments that took place that day. Above, you can check out Bob Weir teaming up with Grace Potter for a touching version of "Friend of the Devil." The song is highlighted by Potter's passionate singing, and the all-star rhythm section shows their dynamic range as well. The band keeps the tempo relaxed, and Weir lends a strong, albeit brief, guitar solo.
Dear Jerry: Celebrating The Music Of Jerry Garcia will be released on October 14, 2016 on CD and DVD/Blu-ray. Last month, a rocking video of "Touch Of Grey" from the concert was shared.
It was recently announced that two events titled Dear Jerry: Let's Play 2 will take place on October 14 in Washington, DC and October 15 in Virginia.
