“Bamboo” – Hinds [YouTube Music Video]

Released: September 21st, 2016
LYRICS

I want you to call me by my name
When I am lying on your bed (By my name)
I pray you to stay away
While I’m talking with your friends (Stay away)
I need you to be around my legs
And stop complaining about the rain

And how could I show you without looking freaking mad
That I’m not always gonna be around
And how could I show you without losing all our time
That I am not always gonna run behind
And why, are you on my mind?

I need you to feel like a man
When I give you all I am (Like a man)
I know you’re not hangover today,
you are classifying your cassettes (Your cassettes)
And hey you just can’t share my mistakes
oh man I’m trying all my best (All my best)
And how could I show you without looking freaking mad
That I am not always gonna be around
And how could I show you without loosing all our time
That I am not always gonna run behind
And why, you’re on my mind?

I want you to call me by my name
when I am lying on your bed (By my name)
I need you to feel like a man
when I give you all I am (Like a man)
I know you’re not hangover today,
you are classifying your cassettes (Your cassettes)

The rambunctious indie Madrileñas of Hinds are at it again, this time as goofy cartoon characters in a video for “Bamboo,” a track off of their debut album, Leave Me Alone. The song, which originally appeared on the band’s first Bandcamp release, is a garage-y lo-fi rock number with whimsical pseudo-English lyrics and bright, fuzzy guitars.

The video, produced by artist Laurina Paperina, accompanies a single-issue Hinds zine and features animated renditions of the band’s members making mischief with a cast of surreal characters.

Leave Me Alone is out now via Mom + Pop Music. Pick it up on Amazon. You can also stream it and read our review on Zumic.
