LYRICS

Sleigh Bells “I Can Only Stare” Lyrics

I can only stare into the field for so long
I can only stare into the field for so long

Watching you from the chair
Dragging a brush through your hair
You just rattle the air
You know I’m grieving, giving off heat, oh
Cross my heart, hope to die
You and I, you and I
We’re always sharing the breath
Till there’s nothing left but carbon dioxide
Why won’t you let me come over
And do what you want me to? Ooh

I can only stare, I can only stare
(You see, it’s pulling my heart down, it’s pulling my heart down)
I can only stare, I can only stare
(You see, it’s pulling my heart down, it’s pulling my heart down)
I’d like to go back there and [?] again
I can only stare, I can only
I’d like to go back there and [?] again
I can only stare, I can only

Do you know how I feel
Knocking on your door
Till my knuckles bleed
I can’t perform miracles
It’s dedication time, oh oh oh

I can only stare, I can only stare
(You see, it’s pulling my heart down, it’s pulling my heart down)
I can only stare, I can only stare
(You see, it’s pulling my heart down, it’s pulling my heart down)
You and me, there’s nothing left for her
Never fully heals, never fully
You and me, there’s nothing left for her
Never fully heals, never fully

Sleigh Bells have shared a music video for “I Can Only Stare,” a song from their upcoming album Jessica Rabbit. Watch it above, courtesy of the band’s YouTube.

Featuring a mascara-smeared Alexis Krauss, we see the singer going through some sort of an emotional episode while in a pool and running in a field. The song is a beat-driven tune with pop elements, supported by jagged guitar riffs and Krauss’ skilled vocals.

Jessica Rabbit is scheduled to be released on November 11th, 2016. Pick it up on Amazon. Other songs from the upcoming LP Sleigh Bells have shared are “Hyper Dark” and “It’s Just Us Now.”
