Charli XCX has teamed up with up-and-coming rapper Lil Yachty to release a new song titled "After The Afterparty," the first single from her upcoming album. Listen to it above, courtesy of Charli XCX's YouTube.
"After The Afterparty" has an infectious dance beat and Charli's fun vocals keep this song's energy upbeat. Lil Yachty's spits a few smooth lines, but the autotune and digital effects seem a bit over-the-top. It's very much a party anthem in the same vein as Miley Cyrus's 2013 hit "We Can't Stop."
Charli spoke about Lil Yachty's contribution on the track with Spin:
It annoys me when people are like, ‘Oh he can’t rap,'... We’re not in a time where rappers are all about having the best all time flow, or that old school flow. I love the way that he raps but I also love the way that he presents himself in his videos and that he’s this creative force.
"After The Afterparty" is available on Amazon. For more about Charli XCX, check out her Zumic artist page.
